The website and the apps
This policy describes learnwithglow.com and the current Glow Math Facts and Glow Sight Words iOS apps. The website is for adult educators, parents, and other adults supporting learning. Website registration is separate from local student profiles in the apps.
Classroom accounts
We use Clerk to manage registration, sign-in, sessions, and account security. Clerk processes the account details you provide, such as your email address and any name or connected sign-in profile, along with authentication and security information. Essential cookies or similar storage keep your session working. We use your account to provide access to classroom resources. We do not ask you to upload student names, rosters, work, or scores.
You can manage your profile through the account menu. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account information. Clerk’s privacy policy explains its processing.
Newsletter choices
Newsletter signup is optional and separate from registration. If you opt in, we store your email address, signup source, consent version, subscription status, and timestamps in our Neon-hosted database. We use these details for occasional Glow news and learning ideas. We do not add classroom members automatically.
You can unsubscribe using your subscription link or by contacting support. We retain a minimal suppression record after unsubscribe so we can honor your choice. If you want your record deleted, contact us. Signing up for the newsletter does not require a classroom account or a purchase.
Security and website operation
Our hosting and authentication providers process technical information needed to serve and secure the site, such as IP addresses, browser information, and request logs. The signup endpoint briefly stores a one-way rate-limit key derived from an IP address and a short time window to prevent abuse. The key expires after about ten minutes. We do not store the raw IP address in our newsletter list.
This website includes no advertising trackers or behavioral analytics SDK. Fonts and site artwork are served with the website. Service providers process information for hosting, authentication, and database operation under their own terms and privacy policies.
Children and local app learning
Website accounts and newsletter signup are for adults 18 and older. Please do not submit children’s personal information to this website or in support requests. If you believe a child has created a website account or submitted information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
The current iOS apps keep student nicknames, progress, preferences, and achievements locally on the device. They have separate app databases and do not sync these records to this website. No advertising or analytics SDK is included in either app. Device backups may include local data according to your Apple settings. Removing an app can remove its local records; restoring a purchase does not restore learning history.
Speech, handwriting, purchases, and sharing
The current iOS apps use supported on-device Apple speech and handwriting recognition. They do not upload recordings, transcripts, or handwriting to a recognition server. Voice features require permission and are optional. Apple handles purchases and restoration; Glow receives verified purchase status rather than payment-card information. When you choose to share a progress export or achievement, the destination you select has its own privacy practices.
Retention, requests, and updates
We keep account information while needed to provide the service and maintain security. Support information is used to respond and may be retained where needed for records or obligations. We do not sell personal information or use student learning data for targeted advertising. Service providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. We may update this policy and will change the effective date when we do.
